The rising sun pours light into Barley Barn – a spotless, modern conversion of a space rooted in the history of our farm.
In years gone by, the barn would have stored the barley crop, you’ll get a hint of where we got the name when you spot the huge threshing wheel hanging high in the eaves.
Once inside you can admire the original slate entrance and the wooden beams overhead, but we have left the past behind when it came to creating these spaces.
A seamlessly styled kitchen with everything you require including a Quooker hot water tap and Siemens appliances. The stunning dining table was handmade by brothers Luke and Jack from an old sycamore tree that fell in a storm. We wanted to keep a piece of its 183 year life forever alive in our cottages, see if you can count all the rings!
There’s a cosy seating area where you can see for miles. If you can tear yourself away from the view, there’s a television and a log burner too.
Up the floating glass staircase, on the mezzanine level, you’ll find your king size bed with crisp white linen and a spacious marble wetroom with a waterfall shower and pure lakes toiletries.
Outside on the patio you can sit and chill out or settle into the cedar wood hot tub and stare at the stars. Sitting shoulder-deep in the tub, you have clear views along the ridge of High Rigg and down St John’s In The Vale.
